Beaches and Ruins

About this exhibition

“In 2014 I began a series of paintings based on the lost village of Tide Mills close to where I live and which has been a ruin for many years. This has been a continuous fascination for me as I often walk though this spot which has formed images in my mind of its beautiful ruinous formations, the textures and setting with the surrounding landscape, the rocks and the sea.

Other obsessions of mine which are inspired by local scenery involve caravans, boats, cliffs and rocks and of course the shingle beach where I have created another series of works – abstractions of the beach and beach people.”
