‘The ‘Ballet background’ article uses dancers from the Vic-Wells company with a dance backdrop to model whilst also telling a little of their career. Moira Shearer ‘titan-haired beauty’ is hailed as having ‘danced many leading roles, among them in Gods go A Begging.’ She wears a black dress with a full fronted skirt and a ‘narrow shawl-collar clasped with a gold motif’ that is ‘repeated down the bodice. ‘Beryl Grey is described as the ‘enfant prodige’ of the dance company who was a leading ballerina at 14 ‘wears a pure silk dress in a formal flower print.’ Published in British Vogue, July 1944, P39.
