Grass Basket Weaving with Ruby Taylor. Tue 14 Sep 2021 10.30am – 5pm
The workshop group is currently limited to 6 participants. This may be extended to 10 participants if it may be safely allowed, outside, by September. Please arrive a few minutes before your class and check in at Farleys Gallery. This is a beginners basket weaving class, no experience neccessary. The class runs for 6 1/2 hours with a break for lunch and cake. There are toilets available on site. The workshop is designed to be full of outdoor, creative fun, to be informative & to inspire your imagination. All materials provided, some grass will be foraged, by you, from Farleys grounds. Please dress warmly, with waterproof clothing if the weather demands and please wear sturdy walking shoes or boots. Please bring your own picnic lunch. We will provide a slice of fresh, locally made cake and your choice of tea or coffee.
Optional things you might like to bring: Stool, cushion or blanket.
Make a small coiled basket from wild foraged grass, some of which we’ll gather on the day at Farley’s to include in your basket. Learn which grasses you can harvest and how to process them. Your basket will be sturdy and perfect for storing eggs or other similar-sized objects. Suitable for all levels including beginners.
