With Derek, you will look at and discuss example poems by a variety of poets, in order to identify various approaches and help stimulate your creativity. You will be given writing prompts to facilitate the use of the different methods that will be examined, thus allowing you to explore and take inspiration from the sculptures and art exhibitions at Farleys.

At the end of the day you will take away a selection of writing tools that you can use to write about any of the arts.
All you need to take part in this workshop is a pen, notebook, your eyes and some imagination!

Derek Adams has an MA in Creative and Life Writing from Goldsmiths and his poems have appeared in magazines and anthologies in the UK and abroad.
He was BBC Wildlife Poet of the Year in 2006 and his pamphlet Postcards to Olympus won the Poetry Monthly Booklet Competition in 2004.
