Part of an exclusive collection of hats designed for Farleys by Victoria Brown.
Victoria drew her inspiration from Lee Miller’s photographs in the Lee Miller Archives, particularly fashion shots completed for Vogue during the war. The twists and playfulness, coupled with the formality of the vintage clothing and hats in Lee’s images, acted as a creative springboard for Victoria’s designs. Lee’s use of solarisation in her photography is also reflected in the hat’s black or white edging and accents.
Victoria Brown is a British Milliner whose work has been exhibited internationally. She has work in private collections and the V&A museum. She has designed hats for Jean Muir Ltd, and handmade felt for Georgina Godley and Paul Smith’s runway. This hat is handmade by Victoria Brown with straw using traditional skills and wood blocks. Each hat has a specially designed Farleys label in the crown.
